Second Child Died From Measles-Related Causes In West Texas, Where Cases Are Nearing 500

A second school-aged child in West Texas has died from a measles-related illness.

The Texas outbreak is still going strong. 400 cases and three dead, including two children. Apparently it is mostly in a Mennonite community who don't do vaccines which explains the spread and the deaths.

Measles is a leading cause of blindness in poor regions.

It also causes meningitis and pneumonia

The US government’s top vaccine regulator has quit after attacking the “misinformation and lies” spread by Robert F Kennedy Jr, the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

No.

There's a particularly awful quote from the parent of the first child to die. They said they don't regret not vaccinating because it's not that dangerous because apart from the dead child all theirs recovered.

Hard to workk out their thinking when they say something like that: i'll assume their anti-abortion, so why praise the survival of their children except one, when they preach every life is sacred: was it 'God's will'? Now the religious right in America are in the ascendency, their dangerous beleifs on vaccination must be curbed before it spreads faster than a virus.
