Remote crossover!

We have just set up a surround sound/DVD player it works just fine and sounds great but when we use certain functions like fast forward or skip the remote triggers the TV to change channels as well. This causes the TV to switch from scart input to the relevant TV channel.

Any idea on how to get around it?
