Remote indicator

A little more information maybe required, are you talking of remote control switch for smoke/co/heat detectors?
If so what system/model are you using?
Normally would be:
CPC to CPC terminal
Perm live to perm live
Neutral to Neutral
Switched Live to switched live.
It could well be you need to determine what conductors are doing what.
New harmonised cores would normally be (but don't take it for granted):
Brown=Perm live
Blue=Neutral
Grey (sleeved blue)=Neutral
Black (sleeved brown)=Switched live
Green/Yellow=CPC

Sounds like he is on about an actual fire alarm system (remote LED outside locked cupboard for example), in which case, it really depends on the system type. You also need to make sure the LED indicator you have is suitable. Some require a diode, some don't.
