Hi there, I am looking for advice on the following job. Our house originally had warm air heating with the boiler housed in the kitchen area connected to the dividing wall which I believe is load bearing. Sort of like a chimney iykwim. The boiler is no longer there and we have put in a cupboard but we were considering removing the additional bit to give more kitchen space however we are not sure if that is structurally possible or whether we would need a support to replace it. The dividing wall would not be changed just the bit that sticks out. We would like to remove it ourselves but obviously if a support is needed we would get a professional in. Any help would be very much appreciated. I have attached photos of the area, there is a archway next to it, I think it is a block wall. We asked a structural engineer to advise us last week but they didn't turn up, and no contact/reasons?. Cannot get good service nowadays!. Thanks again.
