Removal of Yahoo toolbar

I recently loaded the mini Bill Oddie icon from the BBC's Springwatch web site and at the same time I think loaded the Yahoo toolbar. (My fault for not watching the small print properly)
How can I remove it?
I have tried turning it off via Internet Explorer, View and toolbars.
Firstly, ticking a toolbar on the dropdown removes the wrong toolbar. (I have Google and Cannon easy web print in addition to the usual ones.)
When I do turn it off using the dropdown, it is only for that session - then it returns.
Ideas please.

Have you tried to remove it at add / delete progs in Control Panel?
