I tried hard on this forum to find out how to remove the heater but failed. So here is how to do it. Mine is a Hoover and is on the bottom of the drum at the back. I struggled for ages. Then I discovered by pushing the screw well in, it release the tension on the grommet. The heater had coroded near the grommet which made it harder to do. The heater ohms should be in the 20's which mine wasn't. To find out if the heater circuit worked I connected a 60w lamp to the teminals. It lit up. I then connected a 2kw heater to it and that came on. By then I had an extension lead connected. The next thing to try was the temperature sensor which is also on the back. Its resistive, so by metering its change in some warm water I was confident it was ok. I have now ordered a new heater and hope to be washing again soon. :!: :!: Always switch the mains off before making a connection.
