remove fan from tumbledryer

the fan is attached to the end of the motor spindle by a nut, this nut doesnt want to come off, I have tried both ways incase it was a reverse thread.

I want to take the full back off to check the seals and give it a full clean to see if its worth replacing the duff heater.

Trying to remember this model but if I am right the nut is actually fixed to the fan blades and comes off with it not seperately.

ahh bu**er, looks like you may be right, now feel like a numpty trying to hold the fan and turn the nut (ah the futility of it!!)

now how do I keep the motor spindle still to undo the nut? its a smoth shaft, so no indentations I can see to get a spanner on, strap wrench??
