Hi,

We had a new bath put in last year, with jacuzzi. As we didn't at the time have RCD protection at the consumer unit the electrician fitted an RCD FCU in the hall way to protect the bath. I believe it is a spur from the ring main.

About 6 months ago we had the consumer unit replaced to a Dual RCD unit. However, if we wish to now isolate the bath, pressing the test button trips one side of the consumer unit as well as isolating the bath.

As the whole circuit is now RCD protected is it OK to remove the RCD FCU on the wall and replace with a simply FCU?
Can this be done DIY or will it need notification as it is for the bathroom? The RCD is actually located outside the bathroom, in the hallway, it just goes through the wall to feed the bath.

Cheers

If the RCD FCU is a 30mA type and you now have 30mA RCD at the distribution panel, then it will be fine.

Not notifiable.
