I am trying to extend a back box so I can put a double fascia on.

Looking at the screw in the back box I expected to see a normal screw with a wall/raw plug

However I have what appears to be a nail?!

Has anyone come across this before and any ideas how to remove it so I can remove the old back box.

(The photo might not do it justice but there is no screw or thread under the dirt on the side of the nail that I can see)

No photo - just copy and paste.

Yes, just hammer the nail sideways until loosened then pull it.
Did the photo work now?!

It's stubborn, I'll give it that!!

Realised I was able to get behind it and had a pry bar... Look at the size of the nail!

And the wall is now a state of course!
