we wish to remove a radiator to decorate behind it. mu husband knows how to do this, but the nut is well and truly stuck. Any ideas please? thanks!! :?

Thanks...but how do we drain it if we can't remove it?! We've more or less given up on the idea, as it's eating into our decorating time...but it was worth a try. Thanks for looking.

I realise this post is a little delayed but it might help someone looking for an answer.

I had this problem whilst trying to remove a very old rad that was well and truly stuck. WD40 worked for me but any penetrating fluid sprayed around the problem nut and given a few minutes should loosen the gunk. Try tightening the nut gently and loosening it in one movement without bending the pipes (have someone to hold the pipes with another adjustable spanner).
