I have an 8 foot supporting wall on the ground floor of my 3 story house, it is a new build. the gap i need to bridge when the wall is removed is 15 feet, from an external wall to an internal wall. do i need planning permission, building regs etc. how much would an RSJ of this size be. the wall to be removed is breeze block. many thanks andy

You certainly need building BC. & may need PP so check with you council planning dept. A hole that size on the ground floor of a 3 story house is major surgery & that’s going to be a massive beam! I also doubt the internal will provide enough support on it’s own. I would strongly advise you consult a structural engineer or even an architect; it’s also going to be expensive!
