Removing cement stains from brick face

I've heard that hydrochloric acid (which can be purchased on eBay or Amazon) can be used to remove cement stains from red brick face. Can it also be purchased in DIY stores (I couldn't see it on B&Q or HomeBase websites)?

Can anyone confirm if this is a good product for this purpose, or would you recommend another product?

If I had a choice of picking between brick acid, and a brick cleaner, the acid would catch my eye first. I'm guessing the acid ratio would be weaker in the cleaner?

Standard brick cleaner works fine.

Soak the bricks first, else the cleaner disappears INTO the wall!
