Removing Chimney Section

In a victorian house with a 6 flue chimney .... 3 floors ... can you remove the GF portion?
In this case the chimney is one piece in the center on 2nd floor.
But on the GF and 1st floor the chimney is split into two pieces with alcove between serving the front and back of the house.
And we would like to remove everything on the GF meaning 2 sections front and back.
Age is 1890
