posting here as the hearth is stuck to the floor!
Ive managed to remove a slate hearth but it left behind a thick layer of concrete with which it had been stuck down with. I managed to lever up the edge of it with a spade which got rid of the first bit but the rest is proving a bit more difficult to remove. Ive been chipping away with if with a chisel for hours with limited success as its very hard. I dont want to set about it with a pick or a sledge hammer as i dont want to damage the floor. Is there anything else i can try?
