Removing huge concreted posts

In case it helps others I have used an engine hoist to lift a concrete post and its associated base out of the ground.

Using an angle grinder to create a channel helps it break along a fault line but jacking is worth a go so long as the concrete doesn’t go under the path.
A simple horizontal bar supported on bricks on each side with a car Jack on one side

Exactly! Lift a few inches, pack soil down under it, rearrange, take another bite - rinse and repeat. Once out, it becomes much easier to break up with no soil around it.

Looking through some old photos i found a photo of the actual Spade we bought from 2 years ago (it was a "should i buy one of these?" photo i was sending on WhatsApp and the answer was yes)
