Removing huge concreted posts

In case it helps others I have used an engine hoist to lift a concrete post and its associated base out of the ground.

Using an angle grinder to create a channel helps it break along a fault line but jacking is worth a go so long as the concrete doesn’t go under the path.

Exactly! Lift a few inches, pack soil down under it, rearrange, take another bite - rinse and repeat. Once out, it becomes much easier to break up with no soil around it.
