My kitchen was installed 15 years ago after I painted the walls. Now I want to repaint. Removing the cupboards is easy. However, there are two pieces of trim, basically chipboard, each between a wall and the side of a cupboard to hide a gap. Each ~4” wide chipboard plank is fixed to the wall along one edge, and to a cupboard along the opposite edge. It looks as if the attachment might be only to a cupboard. What would he have used to glue the plank to the cupboard? Or is it anyone’s guess? Any chance I can remove the plank without damaging the cupboard which is chipboard faced with melamine or similar?

I’ve attached a photo of one:

Come to think of it, in the above example, if it’s just glued to the cupboard, I can just remove the cupboard. The other cupboard is full height and cannot be moved.

I have a feeling it will be safer just to mask off one or both planks, and paint. I’m putting acrylic paint on, over existing normal emulsion.

Thanks.
