Removing paint from laminate flooring

I have recently moved into a new house & the guy who previously owned it has used no care at all when painting ceilings etc. As a result there is paint splashes / blobs all over the laminate flooring (The flooring is ok & does not need replacing). Are there any good remedies for removal of the paint from the laminate that will not damage it. Is acetone an option or is it too harsh??
