Removing paint from steel kettle pot

Is there a more environmental option other than just to burn the paint out?

Don't know but the plastic ones you can just peel the paint off once its hardened up, i find metal ones too much grief.

The Sunday morning routine of setting fire to Metal Paint Kettle`s, so they would be availble for Monday Morning starts.

Thank goodness for Plastic.

Soaking over night in a strong solution of washing powder / liquid often cleans up door furniture etc might work on paint kettles too.
