Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to strip paint from walls? I had a damp problem in my hallway and the plaster kept bubbling up in a small area. I used a sander to smooth it down so I could paint over it. Unfortunately, the sandpaper I used was too course and it took quite a lot of the paint off. I then made matters worse by pulling the peeling paint away. As a result, when I painted over the area, I ended up with a big obvious ridge where the old paint had peeled away. No matter how many times I paint it or try and blend it in through light sanding, I can't seem to make it look any better. I have decided my only option is to strip the whole wall of paint and start again. Any tips on the easiest way of doing this or any other better solutions?

Many thanks for your help

I've got the same problem only I want to strip the emulsion off the plaster so I can see if it really has dried out following roof/gutter repairs by next door before I repair and repaint and send them the bill.

Surely someone must know what gets emulsion off plaster....other than damp of course!

A steam wallpaper stripper maybe?
