Hi - I want to take out two hooks that have been either nailed or screwed-in, and then painted over.

The wall has old textured wallpaper and has been painted over a few times.

I then want to screw in a couple of screw to hang a mirror after.

Photos below. Any suggestions for best approach? Should I just try pulling them out with pliers? Or paint remover, then pliers? Or just hit them with a hammer? The wall has been recently painted blue so would ideally like to minimise damage.

Thanks!

Hi,

In my (limited) DIY experience of those types of hooks, the screw barely goes any distance into the wall.
Firstly, score (deeply) around the hook with a Stanley knife, and it may just pull out of the wall on its own accord! :)
