This is true and for most of the rads I'm not bothering. But there are three that are against the walls as you walk into the rooms, so you can see down the side of them easily. Where we have stripped the wallpaper, it's all hanging and looks awful. So I need to remove and strip the paper properly.

find something around the same height as the floor to the pipe from the TRV into your radiator turn the valves off slacken the two nuts on the valves lift the rad off its bracket and slowly lower it onto the support you have placed in front of the rad and tighten the nuts back up once you have finished decorating slacken the nuts again lift rad back up and put back on bracket tighten nuts and open the valves simples
