Hi

Has anyone got any tips for removing small areas of masonry paint on an exterior red brick wall? A previous owner has mad a mess of painting pats of my Victorian house and I need a good solution to tidy it up. I've read a few articles which are geared towards cleaning a large area, but as you can see from the photos, I need a more localised solution.

Try a chemical like nitro mors but on a small area not easily seen so see if it lightens the brickwork.

I used nitro mors as a kid painting push bikes 30 years ago. I recently used it for a job and was shocked at how mild it now seems. This might be an improvement though for your situation.

One very quick visual improvement would be to use a brick coloured paint over the drips to camouflage it while you work out the best way to remove it long term.
