Hi all

Any tips for removing a toilet without tipping the water from the trap all over the floor?

I saw something called Liquilock by Oatey where you tip this is on and it gels up any water left but dont seem to be able to get it easily in somewhere like screwfix.

and before sponge a few thrusts with the toilet brush, as this will clean it a bit and push some of the water down the drain.

Bail the trap out with a plastic or paper cup (flush a few times first so it's clean water).

....or a nappy or two! ;)
Contains sodium polyacrylate, exactly the same stuff as in the Liquilock (according to the MSDS)! :)

Sponge after a few flushes.
Rugs on the floor for the few drops remaining and once out of the pan connector, tilt the toilet forward.

loosen off the floor fittings then lift it up at the front while pan connector still attached, that should tip enough water out of the trap to be able to pull it off without loosing water and then lift and pour it into the basin/bath.

As Madrab, loosen it from the floor, tip backwards and let as much run down the drain as possible, then gently pull pan clear of outlet connector and tip forward to carry it out the room.

Remove as much water as possible using your choice of the above methods, remove toilet, place into bin liner. Take outside.
