I have made a fire surround out of pine sleepers and after 4 coats the wax I have used (fiddes rugger brown) really doesn't go with my other furniture which is a shame as its came up lovely?.

I have decided to strip it all off and apply a red/brown stain first then wax as with the wax on its own gives the background lighter grain more of a yellow colour.

Would Meths and a scourer be ok to remove it as its gone directly on the wood as advised from the site,

I used paint stripper to remove wax from a floor, very efficient, cleaned after with white spirit and wire wool.
