renault scenic 2006 air con problem - fan speed 4

I've owned a scenic for 4 years and been back to the dealer 7 times with air con problems. The latest line i'm being fed is that it's failing because i have run it when the fan speed has been set at number 4.
The service report states that this causes too much pressure on the compressor. Sounds a load of tosh to me.
Especially as i didnt have a speed 4 for 6 months when the resistor pack burn out!

It is a realistic diagnoses
To be fair to the dealer i've not been charged to date.

I've never heard of that one.....its only the fan speed that can be varied, as the compressor is driven by an auxiliary belt. Its either on or off as far as I know!

To be honest if the only trouble you have with your Renault is the Air-con I'd say your doing well above average.

I noticed that you had a problem with fan speed No 4 - how did you fix it because must be common fault on them!!!

so u have had the pressure switch replaced
& the pipe comeing out the bottom of the condenser
& probably the condenser its self as well
and no doubt had it filed about twice between every fault
dont worrie its normal
