Not sure if this is the best section/forum, but we'll try.

I'm in the process of cladding my brickwork with stone cladding. I'd like to render above it, like in the image below, but wondered how I should finish the stone or whether I just try and get the renderer to butt up against it. The image below shows a tile above it, but I wouldn't know where to source that and how I'd fix it, and whether it would encourage standing water?

I initially thought an aluminium trim that capped the stone would be good, but then how would the render stick to it.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Wonder if a simple L shaped aluminium trim would work, with the top half glued to the stone (where the tile is in the image above?

I'd run a bellcast bead (or a stop bead with a drip) along the top line of the stone, so the render finishes on the bead and rainwater is thrown clear of the cladding instead of running behind it. Leave a small gap between the bead and the top of the stone and seal it with a flexible exterior sealant. It gives a clean, straight line and stops the render edge from cracking.

Perfect, appreciate your comment. I'll check it out.
