Hi folks, just looking for some advice went around the house this morning and noticed there were large bulging hollow cracks in the base of the house render. Anyway 90% of it was hollow and cracked and basically peeled off but there are a few bits it it well stuck on.
I don't really want to go down the rendering route again as don't want this to happen again so:

1. How do I get rid if the wee well stuck on bits (assuming use an SDS and be careful?)

2 The face of the bricks are not nice as was thinking on sealing them and getting back to original colour but I think they are called "clinker" bricks?? (ex council house) or do I paint them with waterproof sealer type?

I will be re-pointing anyway, anh help would be much appreciated! :)
