Render smooth face brick

Hi looking to render my wall with k-rend or webber pre coloured render whats the best thing to do with the brick being smooth faced tried getting the smooth off with angle grinder but dont seem to make much difference

stop with the grinder and get an on site opinion from a plasterer/renderer.
typically, you can prep smooth surfaces with SBR or similar - but get a paid for opinion first.
