hi
I’m doing a small diy project to build a smallish pond. Pretty much got the walls up now and ready to render. Walls are a combination of poured concrete and 3 courses of hi 7 aerated blocks on top. (Blocks were a left over from an extension project)
I was planning to go a typical render mix of 4-1 on the scratch coat and a 6-1 on the top coat with fibre and waterproofed. However my research suggests that 4-1 render is too strong and would blow on the aerated blocks due to small movement.
Has anyone had any experience with the mix on these blocks?
I have some left over galvanised wiring mesh, would anyone recommend if I slapped this within the scratch coat as a reinforment?
