Rendering a pool

Hi, im building my own pool but i'm not sure what ratios to use for my sand and cement or wether i need to add anything else. can anyone shed some light on this

if you are rendering on to concrete blocks ( which i assume you are) then 4:1: scratch coat with a decent water proofer (sika etc) then top off 6:1:1 sand/cement/lime using a quality plastering sand
