I am quite competent when it comes to plastering and rendering but i have often wondered how the effect is atchived above the window ?

I dont have a picture to explain but what i mean is, it looks as if a piece of cement board as been used above the window to create a kind of flat underside and is extended to the sides to create a detail.

Does this make sence ? i will search the net and see if i can find a picture to explain.

Thanks

Not sure if you know what i mean?

I know what a bell cast beed is, what im trying to explain is that over the window there is what look like fibre board ( the stuff you use on roofs for the verge)

This creates a kind of reveal above the window. Its definatly not a bell cast beed  at least i dont think it is
