Hi am was wanting to render the outside of my house as i am fed up with the red brick. I have heard that i cant just apply cement to brick and scratch as it wont stick well. I was going to use k-rend to finish is it worth the extra cost or should i paint? Please help!

K rend have their own sealant coat, name escapes me.

Rendaid (weber I think) is a good one to stabilse suction, provide a key and you can fix teh mesh into it before you render.

Mix it up, put a tight coat on with trowel, stipple with roller for key. Messy but good stuff.
