Repainting hallway how many coats if it’s the same colour

I will be repainting our hallway which was last done 6-7 years ago, we like the colour still so will use the same colour. As it’s the same colour would one coat suffice, or given the length of time will 2 coats look better and be better lasting?
 
Whenever I've done this I've only ever done one coat but I daresay the naysayers may be along with a different opinion. That said it will depend on the paint quality and how much grime there is on the walls.

It is likely that the colour of the existing paint will have changed slightly. I would go for a wet on wet coat- which kinda equates to 1.5 coats.
 
I've never done one coat even when refreshing walls with same colour.
Said that, I've always wondered if the second coat was really needed in such situations.
If you go for one coat, please let us know the results so next time I won't bother with a second coat.
