after removal of a fire place I am left with the remnants of a brick wall in the floor and what looks like a few bits DPM (like a tar/roofing felt) from the bottom of the brick stacks.

I need to get this up level with the rest of floor, I already have some cemplotex which I was advised I could build up in layers but not sure if this is the correct way or if there is a better way ie use some sort of floor repair and then use the cemplotex to get the last few mm flush and level at the top. The hole is very dusty and uneven, I will clean it up the best I can but don't want what ever I put in to crumble and come out again. Couple of sections are up to 50mm deep, some only 5mm.
