What part of the UK are you in, for a list of local Mini breakers?
Here are a few on E-Bay click, but you would need to get a complete door and the correct shade of white and collect in person, so you, or the person doing the work for you could inspect inspect it.

Also worth considering its a 9 year old car, so keep an eye on cost.

Thank you very much folks for your suggestions.

I've gone for John's option 4.

I went back to the (highly recommended) local repair shop. I wanted to talk to the boss face to face about the collision bar and sill. I am satisfied with his answers and attitude. And with the quality of what was coming out of his workshop this morning.

And for cash, he'll charge me £300.

Car may be 9 years old but I intend to keep it for a good many more years.

All the best

Mary

Absolutely, at 9 its only a baby ..................
Good to hear you're getting sorted out, 300 seems very reasonable.

I just lost my job.
I've got a nice smile.
I played nicely with his 11 week old puppy (not a euphemism).
Will let you know what the outcome is (will be a couple of weeks cos I'm very busy at the mo)

Best of luck, both with the motor and your search for a new job Mary!
Do keep an eye on the coolant levels, and a regular oil change pays dividends.
John :)
