I am wishing to refurbish a Scarborough reel. It is a 1960,s vintage with 2 tufnol discs and quality bronze reel fittings & handles. However the parts that let the reel down are the screws that hold the 2 reel discs which are mild steel and have rusted badly. It is these I wish to replace.
What I feel I need are some threaded pipes 24mm long (M4). These will fit between the reel plates held together with a screw from each side. These to be in stainless or brass etc.
The screws are easily available but I am unable to locate threaded tubes. One problem I am having is I am unaware what they are called. I have tried threaded tube/pipe barrel nuts.
Any suggestions
Thanks
Mike
