after cutting out bad bit and nailing some fresh do you put scrim around rough edges or just skim.hole is about 3 foot square.plaster quantity;would you say about 2 handfulls of plaster plus enough water(half inch in bottom of bucket)

use fibretape on the joints, pva around the edges it will be easier to blend the finish in, also mix half a bag of finish your better off looking at it than looking for it.
