Hi,
I’ve just increased the size of my loft hatch, unfortunately the ceiling is made up of a lath and plaster setup, so you can imagine the mess I've made!
The problem I have is when cutting the larger hole I managed to pull down a larger area than I needed. So I now have a lovely new loft hatch with about a 4-inch gap around the edge missing part of the plaster, exposing the laths.
Are there any tips on repairing other than re-plastering, also the plaster is very old and every time I knock the roof more falls down
Any help would be most appreciated, and why don’t they teach this stuff at school!
