Hello

We are currently renovating a Victorian terrace. The party wall has got a crack in it which has been classified a historic by a SE during the purchase process. The wooden beam in front of the crack can easily be removed as it is just part of a stud wall of the bathroom.

What would be a good way of repairing the crack? Would it be possible to fill the crack with mortar considering it is historic and is unlikely to develop further?

Many thanks
Alex

Why didn't your SE specify a suitable repair method?

It will probably need helical bars bonded into the joints at specific distances.

Party Wall Act should apply.
