Bit of wood filler or car body filler, sand and give the whole unit a coat of paint.
if its fust the edging then you can buy edging strip from any one of the sheds,
take it off by heating with an iron, then put it on the same way, then file with a triangular or half round file and smooth by "draw" filing gently on an angle
