Repairing Vinyl

So looks like disasters come in six's 😞

Long story, but a bulb fell out in the kitchen on some new lino and melted an area around the size of 5p.
The Lino is in the shape of wood planks and the melting point is in one wood piece.
The wife is not happy of course 😜

Anyway, I can only think of two options.
Get the whole lot replaced (£400 or so) or cut out a 'plank' in the lino and replace.
Thankfully we have spare lino and the exact sections.

Is this something easy to do yourself?
If so, any tips and guidance on what to stick it down with?

Or is it worth calling the company who layed it, explain the situation as see if they could replace it?

Hi, Not sure if you can edit your title but you have Vinyl not Lino. Only saying as some people might not read to give advice when its called lino as lino is very specialist.


Yes it can be repaired. I would contact the company who installed it. If they are any good they can repair it for you also. This will be done by cutting out the damaged plank and then replacing and cold welding the new plank in. You can have a go yourself obviously but i would get a pro rather than risking making things worse.
