Good evening all,

I’m based in south wales and am due to have an existing block drive redone / extended. There is currently a slope down away from the house towards the road.

We are in a clay soil area.

My questions are:

- As we are in a clay soil area, are permeable surfaces such as permeable pavers and gravel actually going to do what they are meant to do or could we just end up with puddles and water draining down the slope onto the road anyway? I’m aware that the sub base would need to be permeable but this will just be sat on clay

- I believe that although we have space to add a soak away, it probably also won’t do its job. In view of this and the above, what should I be doing?

My preference would be a block or tarmac with block boarder

Thank you for your input
