Hi,

I'm trying to replace my eberle rtr-e 3521 thermostat with a Secure srt323 (hortzmann Hrt4-b).

My thermostat command a two way valve (open/close) and is connected as follow :

Yellow/green : 2
Brown: 1
Blue: N

How does I have to connect new thermostat ?

Thanks in advance for help.

The RTE-E 3521 thermostat is wired as follows:
Terminal 1 = Live In (Brown)
Terminal 2 = Switched Live (Yellow / Green*)
Terminal N = Neutral (Blue)

The Horstmann HRT4-B is battery operated, so it doesn't require the neutral. Insulate this and tuck it safely out of the way. The remaining wires would then be.
Terminal 1 = Live In (Brown)
Terminal 4 = Switched Live (Yellow / Green*)

*It's not good practice to use a green/yellow earth wire as a 'live' it should at least have a brown sleeve on. Fortunately the HRT4-B is double insulated, but if it wasn't and needed an earth you would have had a problem.

Use the Blue for switched live.
Sleeve it with brown at both end
You've got it, so use it.

Not the earthwire.

Using the Earth conduct or for anything other than Earth is not acceptable.

It could be a serious, even fatal, shock when someone works on the installation and assumes the earth conductor is Earth and is unaware it is Switched Live
