replaceing a radiator

Hi alland thanks in advance.
my radiator is leaking from the bottom so i have turned it of and drained it. It is quite an old rad . When i replace it do i just put the same size back on.Or would i need a differant size with todays modern rads.[/img]

This isn't an exact science, bearing in mind that the flow can be adjusted. If the radiator is more-or-less the correct size for the room, I would simply replace it, trying to get one with the same wall fixings. But you'll be lucky if you can avoid doing some minor plumbing.

If its an old imperial sized rad, then you are unlikely to find one that's the same size.
The simplest solution is to get one that slightly shorter than your existing one, then use these special extending telescopic valve tail extensions to bridge the gap between valves and rad. You will need one each side.
