Hello
I have bought a new ceiling light that is dimable via a remote I believe. https://wtlighting.co.uk/products/mantra-centra-m5931-flush-led-ceiling-light
Along with a new switch. https://wtlighting.co.uk/products/trendiswitch-champagne-gold-1-gang-2-way-10a-rocker-switch

I’ve only ever replaced the light unit having to use chocolate block for the existing cables.

What door I do with the light and switch? Replace the switch like for like first? Assuming the light will power on?

Then replace the light?

The light switch has a bracket. Does this fit inside the existing or replace it?

Thanks

Replacing a standard switch for a dimmer isn't like for like. Similarly changing a ceiling rose/pendant isn't straightforward when swapping to a flush mounted light. Post pics of the new and old to show the wiring set up.

That doesn't show the wiring. We need to see behind the switch and the light

Ok, stuck already.
The old/existing switch rear attached.
The new socket and instructions.
I don’t see where the earth connects. Yellow/green to L2? Neutral (red) to L1? Live (black) to com?

The new switch is plastic; it doesn't connect anywhere.
Just put a connector on it so that it can't touch anything.

Yellow/green to L2?
Of course not.

Neutral (red) to L1? Live (black) to com?
WTF are you talking about? Should you be doing this?

Red (live) to Com and Black (switched live - NOT NEUTRAL) to L1 - the same as the old switch.

What have those instructions in the picture got to do with the new switch?

Have you got the wrong page?

Get an electrician in, if you think earth (G/Y) goes to L2.
