Good evening gents,

I'm after some sensible advice regarding the replacement of an old boiler, central heating that is, CentraJet 13/17. It feeds the domestic hot water and 11 room radiators of various sizes.

The radiators are mostly undersize for the rooms, so some will go from single to double, high output. The engineer who last serviced the boiler, replaced the pump and advised that the boiler barely had enough capacity to run the current system.

Gas or Oil?
Today's 500ltr of oil cost £290......
I have no gas mains to the property, but next door do have, so I believe it could be easily installed.

So here are the questions:

Is gas a more economical solution?
How much can I expect to pay for gas installation from the street supply?

What capacity boiler would be required to give say 25% more ouput than the Centrajet 13/17?

Can anyone recommend a suitable replacerment oil boiler, or if the gas looks favourable, a gas alternative.

Cheers

Gavin
