Replacement for Randall 3060 ...

ok, i've tried numerous configurations but still can't get the heating to kick-in.

I've tried joining the yellow & brown and leaving external to the device .. no joy
I've tried connecting the brown to the Live terminal, and the yellow to the CH off (terminal 2) ... no joy

... running out of options and the wife's going screwey :S

could have just used a replacement module... still available. i know it doesnt help.... sorry. .

back to basics matey... did you note all the connections before 'rewiring and does your new prog have an interchangeability guide?

Pull all the wires out, find which wires go to what and start the programmer wiring again.

Once confused it is best to bite the bullit and start from scratch.

Now this is if you have a gravity hot water pumped CH system and when i say honeywell i am refering to the clock backplate.

The LNE straight forward and connect the neutrals from the pump and the boiler together and put into neutral coming in same as earths

The wire to your room stat that originally came out of terminal 2 of danfoss back plate needs to come out of terminal 4 of ther hneywell

The wire that came out of teminal 4 of the danfoss (boiler live) needs to come out of terminal 3 of the honeywell.

The wire that comes back from room stat (you say yellow) needs connecting to live to pump by using 1 block of a terminal strip (it does not connect into the honeywell back plate at all. so just take little bit of plaster out to fit it in clock.

EDIT
Also set any switches on back of programmer to 10 position(which is for gravity systems) and not the 16

thanks Namsag, that's confirmed i've done it correct ... however, still no heating.
I've now resorted bac to previous Randall 3060 and guess what, still no heating :O

Could it be my Temperature sensor has given up the ghost at this inopportune moment?

take the pump live out of the yellow and put that into terminal 3 of the honeywell if you have not mixed wires up that should give power to your pump by passing the room statand bringing it on with the boiler. Confirming room stat is faulty.

If pump still does not come on then check for 240 at pump .

Just to keep this post current ...

Having diagnosed the failing area to be the pump I prepared myself for the worse, however, my neighbour who's an electrician had a handy device that shows electric current in wires and found a bizarre break half way along the pump connection.

Now repaired the 3060 is functioning as previous (i.e. only on or off ... clock's broken) and am set to install the ST9400C tomorrow ;)

ok, now i'm stuck, still no Central Heating !!

I've taken like for like connection from Randall 3060 to HW ST9400C according to previous posts, keeping the yellow and brown (stat off and pump live) connection isolated.
The Hot water kicks the boiler into action, the Central Heating doesn't!!

In 2 of the 4 honetwell Sundial plan wiring diagrams neither 1 & 2 terminals (HW off & CH off) are populated, is it essential the 'CH off' be part of the new configuration?

If not how can i remove?

To conclude ...

Heating now sorted, i realised with my set-up (Gravity Water - Pump CH) requires both water and heating active to invoke heating ... i knew this already, just didn't realise the ST9400C required me to manually select both options ... DOH !!!
