Hi all,
Recently moved in to a property and the front door handle broke on the day we moved in.
It is a upvc door which looks like the handle has previously been replaced.
The handle on the outside is not like a proper handle, but like a long panel of metal to grip to open the door with the lock below it.
The indoor handle doesn't have an 'upward' locking movent so as to lock the entire mechanism, and the latch doesn't work, so the only way to actually have the door remain closed is to lock it.
Do I need to replace the entire mechanism, or just the lock part, or does it come as one piece anyway?
Also, what type of the lock will allow the door to be open and close from the outside without a key - our previous property, if the door closed on you, you had to use the key to open it again.
Thanks.
