Hi,

I hope someone can help explain how to replace my master phone socket.

I have a old master socket which is falling to bits and inside it has:

white wire - connected to terminal B
orange wire - connected to terminal A
black wire - not connected to anything
green wire - not connected to anything

The replacement master socket has 6 terminals, and refers to banded wires. I think i need to connect the orange one to terminal 3 and the white one

Any advice?

You have got the wrong type of master socket.

As the BT owned master socket is broken you need to get BT to replace it.

It is NOT yours to replace or interfere with.

If you really must DIY it then you need an NTE 5 master socket
