I am in the process of renovating a victorian property and want to replace the original pine floorboards with new ones, as the victorian floorboards are in bad condition. I could go down the reclaimed floorboards route but wondered if there are any new alternatives that would be a suitable and cheaper replacement?

I've had a look at the square edge floorboards (whitewood or redwood) sold by most timber yards, but am not sure if these are suitable to use as the finished flooring?

I plan on staining and sealing the floor to achieve something similar to the attached image.

Good timber merchants sell floorboards in different thicknesses you will need, or would be able to machine them to size. What do you mean by poor condition, flipping them over might achieve your desired aim.
